Dry Ingredients

  • 360 grams rolled oats forms the base and bulk of the bars
  • 3 grams salt balances sweetness
  • 163 grams mini chocolate chips optional, adds sweetness and chocolate flavor

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Begin by melting the butter in a mixing bowl until fully liquefied.
  • Add the peanut butter and mix until well combined, achieving a creamy consistency.
  • Drizzle in the honey and sourdough discard, stirring until fully combined.
  • Incorporate the vanilla extract and brown sugar, blending until smooth.

Combining Ingredients

  • In another bowl, combine the rolled oats and salt, mixing well.
  • Gradually mix the dry oat mixture into the wet ingredients, stirring until coated.
  • If using, fold in the chocolate chips gently.

Baking

  • Grease a baking pan and transfer the mixture into it, pressing down firmly.
  • Bake until the edges are light golden brown, about 20 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and allow to cool completely before cutting.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to a week at room temperature, or refrigerate for up to two weeks. They can also be frozen for up to three months.
