Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line your baking sheet with parchment paper, if desired.
  • In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 1 to 2 minutes.
  • Add the vanilla extract and egg, mixing until well combined. Scrape down the sides of the bowl.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and kosher salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
  • Fold in the semisweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed.

Baking

  • Using a spoon or cookie scoop, drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are lightly golden. The centers should look slightly underbaked.
  • Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes
