Ingredients

Brownie Ingredients

  • 10 tablespoons unsalted butter adds moisture and richness
  • 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar provides sweetness and helps with texture
  • 3/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder contributes chocolate flavor and color
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract enhances the overall flavor
  • 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt balances sweetness
  • 2 large cold eggs binds ingredients and adds moisture
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour provides structure and helps with texture
  • 2/3 cup chopped walnuts, pecans, or chocolate chips (optional) adds texture and flavor contrast

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat until it’s completely liquid.
  • Remove the pan from heat and stir in the granulated sugar until incorporated and the mixture looks glossy.
  • Add the unsweetened cocoa powder and stir until well combined.
  • Add vanilla extract and sea salt, mixing until evenly distributed.
  • Whisk in the cold eggs until the mixture is smooth and glossy.
  • Gradually fold in the all-purpose flour until just combined.
  • If desired, fold in walnuts, pecans, or chocolate chips.

Baking

  • Pour the brownie batter into a greased and lined baking pan, spreading evenly.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

Notes

For best results, ensure your butter is melted but not browned, mix just until combined, and use lined baking pans for easy removal. Adjust baking time based on your oven’s performance.
