Chocolate

  • 7 oz large semi-sweet chocolate chips or roughly chopped chocolate adds rich chocolate bursts

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F and prepare your baking pan by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted and cooled unsalted butter with the vegetable oil until smooth.
  • Add both the white sugar and packed light brown sugar to the bowl and blend until the mixture is uniform and glossy.
  • Crack in the eggs and whisk until fully combined, ensuring no streaks remain visible.
  • Pour in the vanilla extract and sprinkle the salt over the mixture, stirring until well integrated.
  • Gradually add the flour and cocoa powder to the wet mixture and stir gently with a spatula until just incorporated.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the batter.

Baking

  • Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, until the edges are set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan before slicing.

Notes

Optional: sprinkle some extra chocolate chips on top before baking for added texture. Allow the brownies to cool completely before slicing for cleaner cuts.
