  • Add granulated sugar to the melted butter and whisk until glossy.
  • Stir in the cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and salt.
  • Add the cold eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Fold in the all-purpose flour until just combined.
  • If desired, add chopped walnuts, pecans, or chocolate chips and gently stir.
  • Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until edges look set.
