Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Whisk until creamy.
  • Add the vanilla extract and the egg. Stir well until fully blended.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and kosher salt.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the semisweet chocolate chips.

Baking

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Drop mounds of dough onto the sheet, spacing them about two inches apart.
  • Bake for about 10–12 minutes, until lightly golden around the edges.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For best results, ensure butter is softened and do not over-mix the dough. Store cookies in an airtight container.
